# Version 2026.09.02 - Unified Resources and Safer AI-Assisted Work

This release brings Phasoric's knowledge objects into one resource experience, makes AI context easier to choose and inspect, and adds review-first writing, capture, document, exchange, and industry workflows. BasaltNotes is now Phasoric; existing Markdown ownership and local-first workspace principles remain unchanged.

### Unified Resources and scope-safe `@` context

- Work with notes, attachments, captures, research sources, meetings, decisions, semantic entities, and connected-provider items through one Resource model while their original records remain canonical.
- Add explicit context in Intelligence Chat, Agent Studio, and the Markdown editor with an `@` picker that searches the active workspace and vault.
- Keep references durable through renames with stable typed identities. In Markdown, selected references remain visible as portable links instead of hidden prompt state.
- Phasoric rechecks every reference immediately before use. Deleted, disconnected, unavailable, or out-of-scope sources are omitted rather than widening access.
- Explicitly selected sources are resolved in a stable order and take priority over ambient retrieval, making the context sent to an AI engine easier to understand and reproduce.

### Write with AI inside the Markdown editor

- Describe what you want in natural language and generate Markdown without leaving the active note.
- Ground a request in the current selection or note, then add only the extra sources you choose with `@` references. Editor generation does not search the rest of the vault in the background.
- Review streamed output before it changes the note, then choose **Insert at cursor**, **Replace selection**, or **Append to note**.
- If the note changes while a non-append draft is being generated, Phasoric stops the insertion and asks you to regenerate from the current text.
- Connected engines still use the normal processing-boundary preview, so the bounded source set is visible before content leaves the device.

### Evidence you can inspect where you work

- Open a citation beside your work in Research Studio, or in a responsive drawer from Intelligence Chat.
- Inspect the cited excerpt, Markdown heading or line, PDF page, provenance, capture time, trust state, and current source health without losing the answer or research view.
- Missing or unsupported evidence remains visible as such instead of being presented as grounded.
- Evidence views now follow the same Resource identity and authorization checks as context selection, including after a source is renamed or refreshed.

### Contextual intelligence actions with review boundaries

- See relevant next actions for notes, web research, PDFs, GitHub sources, meetings, research collections, and decisions.
- Start read-only analysis directly from the selected resource while keeping the source and active scope attached to the request.
- Actions that can change workspace state produce a Forge preview and wait for explicit approval.
- Promote useful connected or external research into a Markdown note with provenance intact. New material begins as Draft until a person reviews it.
- Pulse can surface a changed Resource without copying its content into the signal, helping you revisit affected work while preserving the original source boundary.

### Smarter capture, documents, and the web clipper

- Review suggested titles, folders, tags, links, tasks, and follow-up destinations before applying Capture Intelligence organization.
- Generate images as reviewable outputs, then save only the results you want into the workspace.
- Bring supported office documents, PDFs, scans, and other source files through a more consistent ingestion path with source metadata preserved.
- The Phasoric web clipper has improved capture recovery, local OCR for scanned content, PDF handling, and queue cleanup for interrupted work.
- Derived insights remain connected to their source material and stay distinguishable from reviewed knowledge.

### Private exchange and native document signing

- Coordinate bounded private exchanges for consequential two-party handoffs with explicit enrollment, package, cancellation, expiration, and recovery states.
- Send one or more PDFs in an ordered signing packet, collect typed or drawn signatures, and keep the completed documents with their signing evidence.
- Return completed signing artifacts and indexed metadata to the relevant vault instead of separating the final record from the work that produced it.
- Exchange invitations and signing evidence improve coordination, but do not replace the identity, legal, or professional checks appropriate to the transaction.

### Industry-aware workspaces and connected services

- Use evidence-aware workflows tailored to software, projects, education, operations, real estate, and legal work while keeping final decisions human-reviewed.
- Agent conversations retain a clearer bounded context lifecycle, including reusable reviewed handoffs and visible evidence-policy omissions.
- Dropbox and other connected-storage workflows have faster background synchronization, more reliable resume behavior, and stronger logical-vault identity handling.
- Hosted MCP and connected product runtimes use explicit workspace and operation scopes for permitted reads and writes, with cleaner recovery when a connection closes unexpectedly.

Plan access, connected AI, hosted storage, exchange, signing, vertical intelligence, and provider-specific capabilities depend on the configured services and workspace permissions. AI-generated material remains reviewable, and workspace-changing actions continue to require explicit approval.
